Mercedes SLK AMG or Aston Martin DB9?

- Which is cooler? Which is more reliable? Which will people notice more? Which is better for someone in their low 20s?

I prefer the DB9 styling, but neither is really reliable. The Aston's had transmission problems, and the Merc's...well, built like a Merc lol.

I think the Aston would get more looks. How is a car better for someone in their low 20's as opposed to their mid 30's? That's up to the owner to decide.

The logical choice is the SLK with the main reason being the support network. There is a Benz dealership in just about every major city but your Aston Martin dealers are more scarce. Sounds like price is not an issue if you are considering a DB9 then again you may be looking at pre-owned models of both. I would choose the AMG because I can get it fixed with in reason all over the US. Now if you live next to an AM dealer you may want to go the DB9 route. Good luck.

I have an AMG SL and I loved it. I drives it every day to work. I also have a DB9 and it sits in the garage looking pretty and takes it out once or twice a month. While the AMG is somewhat reliable, but it will never be as reliable as a Toyota. I had some problems with the ABC in the AMG, other than that, it is fine. If you worry about the maintenance cost, then neither is for you, An oil change of the AMG is about $300 while the DB9 regular service is close to $1K.

Always the Aston. Infinitely cooler (SLKs are for peasants), and Mercedes reliability is nothing like what it was twenty years ago.

If you're in your 20s, DEFINITELY the Aston. Mercs are a bit middle-aged, aren't they?
