Maybe I'm not reading this question correctly, but when I got my 1st car (actually it was my parents' old station wagon) I went "cruising" around the neighborhoods looking for friends. We loaded up the station wagon & drove around for hours including 13 or 14 trips around "6 Corners" in Brookfield, IL.

If you mean how did I find my 1st car--that 1st one I actually bought--I bought a 1970 Nova from my parents friend.

I don't know if kids do as much cruising today as we did back in the '70s--gas was a helluva lot cheaper then!!

For my first car i bought off of a private sale, my Truck i have now i bought off of a family friend. Pick up an Auto Trader or Bargan Finder and then search for a car that way. My first car i explored Calgary with it, full tank of gas and then drained it, my Truck i've only put 6000km on it in 5 months, i don't do to much driving anymore.
