New England was hoping to move up into the number 3 seed in the case that Indi lost, but since that didn't happen, they're number 4.

I'm not sure if winning this last game would have any affect on home field advantage or not; if so that would be a good reason. Other than that I think it's a tough call on whether to play your starters or not when it doesn't matter. Sometime coaches and players elect to play because they want to stay sharp or hungry for the kill. Sometimes sitting out a game unless you're nursing an injury can leave you flat for the next time you play.

Awww poor Titans. Isn't it more fair to give a team a GAME to try to get in the playoffs and make the team PROVE they belong there. Although I remember the Steelers 15-1 season when they kept the Bills out of the Playoffs with their 2nd and 3rd string.

Playoff momentum....too many teams lose it by benching their starters year after year the last game and end up losing in the 1st round. Belechik knows what he is doing...he did guide a team that many predicted wasnt a playoff caliber team to a 12-4 record.

I was watching NFL Countdown earlier in the year and Brady said that it didn't matter if they were undefeated for the season, they would still play strong.
