I appreciate it as a form of music but I really don't think it's that great. The lyrics aren't well thought out and usually they repeat the same old thing over and over again. And it all pretty much sounds the same. Although, it is great for dancing and parties it's not really a form of expression through music. I appreciate it for what it is though only my preference in music is more rock, alternative, and speed metal. Cuz rock pretty much doesn't get lame, like you don't look back on it and say "i can't believe i liked this song" but with hip-hop, you say "omg this song is kinda lame i can't believe i liked it". Even the hip-hop from 2000 is getting kinda lame and old. I don't know, hip-hop is cool and all but it's just not an awesome form of music.

I like hip hop, at least the kind with meaning. I like that it's all-encompassing and goes through so many aspects. The Roots are, without question, absolutely genius.

hip-hop is, sad to say, no longer with us. That is to say she has morphed into her current form of this super-commerical, completely asinie, whore of babylon that is catogorized as hip-hop by those that don't know any better. I miss her....some1 bring her back....and for GOD's sake where in the hell is A Tribe Called Quest?....a good look at The Roots.

Well hip hop is an old yet catchy category of music to me hip hop is a great kind of music that I like to listen to when I'm doing various activities such as my morning bike ride working out excetra excetra.......

I love the beat. I don't like the same old guys standing around with money and chains and half naked woman shaking their bootys around them. It's getting old to me anyways. I loved it when people would rap about something original, something that left you thinking. Beats like those change your perspective. They're getting harder to come by these days. But i'm not here to hate on anyone so keep shaking your bootys ladies lol

Some of it is ok. I prefer Rock like Aerosmith, Motley Crue of course and that type. Everyone has his/her own preference.
