the women most always fall down.

Why is that, and why might you think it is necessary?

I am not a woman. but often times this annoys me.

It's like watching Walker. The woman who is the D.A. always acted like a big wimp, even for a D.A. If she was the example of all women for D.A.'s I would claim, let the men do it. You would think Walker, being also her boe, would have taught her how to use self defense. Even might have made a better program.

Again, Why must they always fall down?

It's an element of the chase scene to make it seem more suspenseful, and it doesn't only apply to women. The person being chased loses distance between them and the attacker by having something happen to them, so the attacker gets closer and the plight of the person trying to get away becomes more urgent. Others things happen other than them falling down. Cars won't start, obstructions bar their path, the lights suddenly go out, etc. I imagine they have the women fall down more often then the men because of the type of shoes the women tend to wear in these scenes, which are usually high heels. Not conducive to running fast in.

Also, women tend to show more vulnerability and emotion when endangered, so having them be the victim shows better on screen than it happening to a man.

BTW To me it has always seemed rather sexist, the whole "damsel in distress" thing, even though I can understand the concept of it and how it plays itself out on-screen. It especially seems ludicrous when the heroine of the piece, who has done so much and saved so many people throughout the piece, suddenly finds herself in some nonsense situation where she needs saving. I remember watching the Wonder Woman TV show when I was young and how silly the episodes seemed where she required saving by Steve Rogers. Not that she couldn't get herself in a situation whereby she might need saving, because that can happen to anyone, but that the circumstances that led to it seemed highly implausible.

But scriptwriters and filmmakers have been getting away from the helpless female who exhibits unusual clumsiness and lack of resourcefulness. Which is one of the reasons I enjoyed the remake of "When a Stranger Calls", because it shows the heroine as being strong and intelligent without losing the moments of vulnerability we all have as humans.

The same reason the man and the woman always end up together even if he is a looser creep that was in prison or something. The reason why they start having sex in motel rooms when they are being chased by police/bad guys. The reason is that Hollywood plays on sexual dimorphism fantasy. She is the weak woman who needs to be saved by the huge man. She stands there and looks pretty instead of banging the other guy over the head as he's pounding her boyfriend. You must remember that Hollywood is not reality. However, as a final note, this usually happens in action movies. If you do not like this happening, upgrade your movie collection.

Walker Rules! Chuck Norris's tears hold the cure to cancer. Unfortunately; Chuck Norris never cries. He also visited a convent, where he had sex with 9 nuns. All 9 nuns gave birth to triplets. Those triplets grew up to become the 1972 Miami dolphins.

In most horror movies, the women always fall down cause its in the script. screen writers and such think that, for some strange reason, horror movie fanatics prefer the women to die without much of a struggle. so they always fall down, or run up stairs, or do some other stupid thing that is going to get them caught and hung up like a deer

An annoying ploy to keep the chase closer, and therefore create the "will they make it tension" (and we all know they will) Charlie's Angles used to fall down all the time too and they were supposed to be tough smart gun toters who just happened to have perfect bodies and more "hair" than the mucical.

It's an old-fashioned cliche, I agree. And why, when a car is chasing a person down a street, does the person keep running in a straight line instead of zig-zagging?

YES! This is REALLY annoying. Almost as bad as when they are always screaming. Hello the bad guy didn't even know you were there til you started screaming your head off! Of course the reason for this is so the hero can come save her.

I couldn't agree more that's why one of my all time favorite movies is "True Romance" by Quentin Tarrantino.
The scene with Patricia Arquette's character "Alabama" kicks the crap out of James Gandolfini's character { I can't remember if they even ever tell you his name }
Anyway.... No man has to come and save her she completely defends herself!!!
Too Cool!
If you have never seen the movie check it out it's Great!!!!!!
Unbelievable cast. Gary Oldham is outstanding!!
