A long shot but you could run scan disk and just make sure there are no disk problems.

I am assuming you have XP and have admins privs.

It could be a write protect error message on something but installers do not always provide the best feedback.

If you have an anti-virus program, you can try disabling it during the install. Sometimes they block certain updates (i.e. to the registry, etc.)

If it is an MSI install, I have seen problems due to how windows has defined some variables in the registry (This usually means something deleted them). If this is the problem, it is not a space problem but it just can not find something like your documents and settings folder (because of the variables). If this is the problem, it is a pain to fix.

You could also try disabling any other spy/malware (or anything other xxxware) detection products.

Sometimes the vendor support site has some tips/tricks if it is a common problem.

Hi you may have 15gb space on disk and enough room to install it, but same games require another 10gb hard disk space to run. think its like virtual memory. i had same problem with battlefield 2142. had to delete some older games to get it ti work ok.hope this helps , happy new year.

This might be because you do not have enough RAM to have your computer keep up with the memory.
