This will only work for the iTunes store.
When your iPod is plugged in, then it will say devices: Owner's iPod or IPOD or something like that. Underneath of it it will say music. Right click on the songs you want off and click delete of course. And then at the bottom, click Eject iPod and then after the light on your iPod Nano flashes and the DO NOT DISCONECT is gone, then it is finished ejecting. Your iPod songs you don't want should be off of it.

Remove songs from an Ipod is easy, and a few steps are listed below which will walk you through it. It is often an advantage to delete songs from an Ipod, as you may have found a better MP3 or other music file to add, or you may have a music song that is "cut off" at the end and need to replace it. No need wasting extra space on your Ipod, or keeping an incomplete song, even though Ipods contain many gigs of storage. The steps are also the same whether you have a nano, mini, etc., it does not matter. First off, connect your Ipod and then make sure ITunes is open on your computer. I prefer to have the "manual" Ipod setting (which means I will simply choose what I delete, choose what I add, etc., to me this is easiest, so that is the option I will list). On ITunes, click edit at the top, then choose preferences, then choose the "Ipod" tab, then choose the "music" tab within that. Now make sure the option is chosen for "manually manage songs and playlists", you will see it on the screen, click ok when done so this option is saved. This simply means you are now ready to manually delete any music from your Ipod, etc. Almost done, now simply click the "Owners Ipod" option on the left window to display your Ipod music songs, highlight any songs in the list and press your delete key. Thats it, this will delete them from your Ipod and you can then add files as you wish.

Just plug the ipod in the usb cable connected to your PC and itunes should automatically open up and depending on which version of itunes you've downloaded you should see a Music icon below your ipod's name under Devices on the right hand side (right beneath Store/Itunes Store/Purchased.) Before you do anything click on your ipod and under Summary and in Options make sure you have "Manually manage music" checked. Then click on Music and look for the songs you want to delete. There is a Search bar on the top right hand side which should make it easier for you to look for the selections you want to delete. Highlight the songs and right click on the selection and click Delete.

you cant take the songs off of your iPod when you're listening to it, but when you have it plugged into your computer go to iTunes and then click on your iPod playlist once it shows up. from there you click on the unwanted songs and then hit the delete button on your keyboard. if you delete it from this list, it doesnt delete it from your library. just the device.

In iTunes on the left side of each song listed, there will be a check in a box. Simply uncheck the box by clicking.
