Read the instructions, and see hoe long the latest time is before you ignore the test results. I think the latest (depending on which kind u took) is 10 minutes. After 10 minutes you should disreguard the results. Once the pregnancy test sets so long with urine in it, the hormone has more time to absorb, and change the test results. If you want to be 100% accurate, then go to the dr and get a blood test done. They are always right! Or you can wait a couple days and take another home test. MAKE SURE you read the directions and disreguard the results after the allowed amount of time. I know how u feel hun. I've done the same thing, repeated the test, and got a negative. Good luck to you, best wishes, and happy new year!!!

If another line showed up after 10 minutes then that is an evaporation line meaning not truley pregnant. I would re-test using first morning urine.
What's an evaporation line? Evaporation ("evap") lines result with the test's antibody strip just looks slightly different than the space around it. There is a line of antibodies (usually made from mouse cells) in the Control and Test section. The Control line binds with any liquid and turns pink (or blue, in tests using blue dye.) The Test/Result line turns pink only if pregnancy hormone is detected. If not, the moisture passes over this strip and does not turn pink. It may, however, become more visible when the light hits the moisture on the strip-- it may appear gray, colorless, like a "dent" in the test, or like a "ghost line." It may appear at any time-- as soon as the urine hits it, after a few minutes as the test absorbs the moisture, or after the 10-minute time limit. It may appear when the test is drying, or after it has dried. It may disappear as the test is drying, or after the test has dried, or not disappear at all.
The simple fact is that there is always "something there" that is slightly visible-- it's simply the antibodies on the test that would turn pink in the presence of hCG. When the test becomes wet, or as it dries, or after it dries, the antibody strip may become more visible. Therefore, all tests may have them. It is not a defect; it's just how tests are made.
A real positive is identified by its color (pink or blue, whatever the color of the test's dye is) and its appearance within 10 minutes of urinating on the stick. A line that appears after 10 minutes, regardless of color, must be considered an evap line and is caused by the test's chemicals changing. HPT's are rapid assay diagnostics, which means any results appearing after the "rapid" time limit of 10 minutes are invalid.

perfect timing for pregnancy. my positive showed up 10 days after I ovulated (probably about where you are) and it was a similar situation... I thought there might might might be a line (actually, it did just look like a super light shadow). Later that day I looked again and still saw a shadow (I couldn't even really see it looking at it, but if I scanned the strip I saw where a line "would" have been)... I'd been trying for a while and I'd never even seen this. I thought it was the elusive "evaporation line", but 2 days later I saw something a bit sooner, and a week later it was clear that I was pregnant. Hope the answer is the one you want...
good luck either way.

If it took a whole hour to turn +, you are not pregnant (or at least your test was negative). You are not supposed to read tests after 10 minutes (on averge....check the instructions that came with your test to see the time window for your test).
Also, sometimes an evaporation line will appear that looks like the "second line" but it isn't.

You had sex during the perfect time to get pregnant, so I wouldn't doubt if you really are pregnant. I would get a few tests from the store and this time, follow the instructions and read your test results five minutes after you do the test, not a full hour!

You are supposed to read the test within 10 minutes. Anything after that can be wrong. An hour is too long to wait to read it.
Take another and follow the exact instructions

A positive is a positive. I read a test after 45 mins (I fell asleep sitting on the toilet) and it was positive. I took another one later in the day to be safe, and sure enough, PG.
