my mom just got me this computer and it does not have no sound and I can't listen to my music it says I Don't have a sound chip put I don't know what or where it is.

You can purchase one at any computer store and some office depot's will have them Installing is my problem.

No sound is heard on the new computer or after Windows has been reinstalled. Some computers do not have internal speakers; they have to be installed externally. The audio card is often integrated with the motherboard for computers from HP and Dell. . I find the information given at

You can get a sound card for $20 or so and plug it into an empty slot. It will come with a CD and instructions. You'll be able to plug headphones or computer speakers into it. If you don't want to open the computer out, you can get sound devices that plug into USB ports.
