It sounds simple but it isn't. The thing is that he's a good friend of hers and they went out to the movies a week before we got together. She then realized that she didn't like him and liked me. We want to go out but she wants to tell him without hurting him too much? He's a cool guy. Can anyone help me/her?

Guys I know the best thing is to tell him and not hide it from him. The sooner the better and its best he hears it from her. I know that. Do you have anything else for me?

One more detail. The thing is that they went out to the movies. And it seemed like they were going out. They talked about it and she told him that she just didn't want a boyfriend right now. And a week later she wants to go out with me. That's the problem.

Your girlfriend needs to sit down or tell her friend over the phone the truth. The sooner the better.
Her friend may be upset for a while, but if he is her true friend he will come around.

Tell your girl to bring a cute girl with big apples and bottoms over with her when she decides to talk to him about you and her as a couple, so he could stare at her friend. Plain simple. His feelings will get hurt anyways. If he is a good person I believe he will take it strong.

Well just tell him. If I was the guy I would rather someone to tell me straight up then be around the bush and me seeking something thats not there. It may hurt for awhile but then thats life.

She doesn't have to tell him that she doesn't like him. All she has to do is tell him that she has started seeing someone seriously and right now doesn't want to date anyone else. Case closed!

As you suggested, it is better to just tell him, the sooner the better. But she needs to tell him firm....with no mistakes.......that way it doesn't look like she's leading him on and he understands completely.
