Thanks to my family, I get to see all the nasty war stuff unedited and they send them to me on DVD, in case I missed it.

I found the Saddam hanging much more easier to take, because of who he was, then the (less we forget) beheadings of these innocent men:

Daniel Pearl , Nick Berg, Paul Johnson, Kim Sun and Gene Armstrong.

Your Take?

Actually the one we've been shown is by a hidden camera by a witness, A'la the Abu Ghraib pics.
The Iraqi government has the real one, which is clear and presumably stored until the spike in violence subsides and all these Saddam apologists get a clue.

One concern that I have about all this very graphic stuff being so available is the probability of children having access to it. If I had seen something like that at age twelve or earlier, I'd have had nightmares for months and been really frightened to know that such things happen out in the world. Worse, some children get desensitized to violence by either seeing it or hearing about it in horrible detail. And some mentally unbalanced adults get off on it. It's the sort of thing which, if it were produced by actors for entertainment, would be classified as "snuff." That is, material beyond the pale of normal porn, aimed at the tastes of pathological sadists. Though generally an opponent of censorship, I think this kind of material is in a class by itself. I believe that it is so potentially endangering and inflammatory that it should not be indiscriminately available to all.

Death is still Death.

Who is without any guilt that they can look at another Human Being and sentence them to Death?

I am sad not because Saddam was executed, but that again the Human Race has blood on our hands.

The video I saw was very poorly lit, I wish it was better but at least we got to see him swinging, I had popcorn, chips and dip, friends over, the whole 9 yards....we should have done it on pay per view.

The crappiness of the video makes me wonder why there wasn't a cameraman assigned.
