I feel I have many phobia's. I fear germs, I am constantly cleaning my hands. I have fears of crowded places. I prefer going out when it isn't crowded. I have fear of traveling. I prefer to stay around town. I have a fear of being a passenger in vehicle. I prefer to drive. I even have a fear of not having access to a restroom. I like knowing that there is a restroom everywhere I go. I have a fear of eating out because of what the people are doing in the back. I sort of have a social phobia also. I also have a fear of going to new places. I like to know my surroundings but when I go someplace new it freaks me out. I have accepted this and have in a way adjusted my life with them. I still do all these things however but I am a nervous wreak when I do them. I have found ways to pumped myself up to where I can make it through those times but sometimes those times seem like forever. But can someone have too many phobia's?

Any phobia is one too many! That's what a *phobia* is; an unrealistic, irrational fear - and that's too many.

It sounds as though you have a fairly simple chemical imbalance that would improve dramatically with medication. Even your family doctor can prescribe these meds - and most will if you only ask.

Try this, you should notice a major improvement in no more than 4 to 6 weeks. You may want to follow this up with some sort of talk therapy. Good luck!!!

Well, of course it isn't a good thing. I'll be frank with you. BUT, you can still live yoru life to the fullest extent even when you do have fears. Sometimes, it is up to you to destroy those fears by trying things out. Like i personally fear noisiness in a closed space, btu fear quiet when in an open place. I'm weird like that too. It's up to you to adjust to them and these phobias are not permanent things, as soon as you realize they are nothing to be afriad of. You will lose thsoe phobias. Like i fear water, never went swimming. But maybe if i did TRY to swim, i could actually realize that swimming in water is fun :)

I think that fear is debilitating and that having too many fears that affects your life the way that yours do don't allow you to do all the things that you could be doing. I have a lot of fears as well but I have to g et over them. You might actually be mentally ill (not in a bad way) and if you are okay with your life being this way than it's fine. If you aren't (and I'm assuming that you aren't or you wouldn't be asking) then you should see a psychologist and see what they recommend for you. I wish you luck.

It's good that you've found a way to organize your life around your phobias, but I do believe that it's still a problem. Think about how much time you could save and all of the other things that you could feel free to do if you weren't constrained by the fears...

I know where you're coming from maybe. I mean I believe I have a severe inferiority complex which is absolutely crippling. I feel anxious at the idea of going out. The idea of a party, going to the movies, a dinner party, going out to dinner, makes my palms sweat. But I just make myself do it. I guess I don't know what my point is, other than the comfort of knowing that other people feel your pain. Maybe everyone feels the same pain, they just hide it better than we do.

You're addicted to your phobias, like a drunk is to alcohol. You rearranged your life around something that isn't even real.
All your fears seem to revolve around your mistrust of other people.
Can we say "Abandonement issues"
Who let you down? Whoever it was forgive them so you can forgive us for being human in your presence.

Yes, a phobia is a distorted thought that you need to rid your mind of.
