Congrats! Im almost 41wks pregnant and about to drop at any time.

Wanting to know the sex of your baby is a very personal choice for each person and it depends on what you feel comfortable with.

I found out the sex of my baby at my 18wk ultrasound and told everybody seeing i was so excited and my partner wanted to know. It didnt and still hasnt taken any of the excitement away for me and my baby's arrival.

But my family got EXTREMELY upset with me. They thought i was being selfish for wanting to know and that i should have kept it as a surprise at least for myself. It doesnt bother me. My baby is going to be a surprise and special regardless.

If you want to find out the sex or not, do it for yourself. Not for the sake of your family. This is your child and at the end of the day it is about what makes you and your partner happy.

This is your baby not your families. Did you tell them what to do with their kid? Ok then. If the mother agrees with you then by all means wait. If she doesn't that is another story. Hear why she wants to know and go from there. I know some couples that were split on the decision so one got an envelope with the gender and kept it a secret. anything that was bought gender specific stayed in the shed. Besides you'll have to wait until atleast 16-22 weeks to find out anyway. If you can't handle the family pressure, just tell them that the baby wouldn't let anyone see. Also it's called an ultrasound not o-sound. Congrats

Congrats! I am 5 months,I know so many ppl who do not find out and that is great if you can wait! I cannot, I have no patience for that lol. I want to buy the "colors" not green and gold...from wi and do not care for packers! It is really up to you and your wife, don't listen to anyone else....if it YOUR BABY!!! If we do have another, this is our first, I think we would wait to find out. They can technically tell the sex at 15 weeks--if you have an internal ultrasound, but the baby is soooo small it is hard. Usually you find out about 20-28wks. Just call an OBGYN and they will tell you when to get in for your first ultra sound, usually about 14-15wks along. But some ppl vary. Congrats, hope all goes well and DON'T get pressured into something ya'll don't want to do!!! It is a happy time!

It's your baby, and since your wife is 50/50, make everyone wait. It's none of anyone else's business what you decide. I didn't want to know the first time around, but I did the second. My husband's brother and his wife didn't want to know and I didn't feel they were being selfish at all. It was none of my business! But anyway, don't let people push you around. Also, don't let them know what names you are considering either or they'll probably try to influence your decision on that, too!

Happy New Year and congratulations!

My inlaws were so upset with us for not telling. We knew what we were having, but wanted it to be a surprise for everyone else. If I could do it all over again... I still wouldn't have told them what the sex was. Make them wait. They didn't even have the ability to find out the sex when our grandparents had kids, so what's the difference?? Congrats, and keep the secret if you want. Don't ever let anyone, not even moms or dads make the decision about anything for YOUR kids. Trust yourself.

Congrats! I think this is a 50/50 decision between you and your wife. Nobody else. Waiting and finding out is exciting but knowing and planning ahead is a good thing too. Discuss it with your wife...either way you come out ahead! Good Luck. Happy New Year!

Personally, I liked finding out early ( Idid 2 the old fashioned way and waited and 2 the new way and found out early.) I felt so much closer to the baby once I knew what it was. It haas a name sooner and u can buy it stuff early, etc...... but, its a personal decision and if u feel strongly about it, dont get the sex of the baby until u feel ready. If they want to know so bad, let them have one of their own! GOOD LUCK with your new child. God Bless

It's not selfish and I think it's fantastic if you guys can wait to find out. I tried but couldn't wait longer then 28 weeks LOL I talked to a lot of people before attending that ultrasound and asked their opinions. My boss said she waited to find out with all 3 of her kids and wouldn't have it any other way. But my direct supervisor said she had to know when she was at her 18 week ultrasound hehe. Everbody is different.. but it's your personal choice.

I don't want to find out because no matter what I'm going to love my baby. And it's so exciting to be surprised so if you and your wife don't care to know until the baby is born, then don't find out. It's not your family's baby, it's yours and it's your choice. I'm a little excited about the surprise.
