During the Academy Awards they talk about a previous ceremony where scientific advances and inventions are awarded.

I'd personally rather watch that then the actual awards. Seems more interesting to me rather than celebrities celebrating themselves.

Why Don't they broadcast it?

I'm talking about a separate broadcast, and given how cool special effects are, I'd love to those rewarded for doing it.

Besides there already are award shows for video games, might as well truly honor those technical pioneers in film.

I know the awards are mainly for famouse people but i think you
may have a point!

In most movies there is only soo much an actor can do so they
would be nowhere without all those technical engineers!

There are some actuall good ones who deserve some attenion.

Broadcasts run over as is. These winners are honored at another building earlier in the day or the previous day. Honor to win, but I would feel slighted to not walk the red carpet.

They don't show it because of time.

Because it's stuff like "Best Achievement in Lighting" or "Best Use of a Hand Held Camera". Those don't involve famous people, and face it...famous people are the main reason most people watch those awards shows.

because there are no 'celebrities' at that award presentation. People watch the Oscars to see their favorite movie stars.

you, my friend, are probably in the minority when it comes to the 'technical' awards are given.

Probably for the same reason that everyone wants to act instead of be a cinematographer...

No one wants to see those awards...
