You have sensitive eyes. One thing that I noticed about my very sensitive eyes is the cleanser that I use could have a huge effect on my eye sensitivity. I used to use a cleanser on my face which made my eyes burn for 24 hours. I changed my eye makeup several times and I finally figured out that it was from my cleanser. Also, try to use products for sensitive eyes. Clinique and Almay are the brands that carry these.

you could be allergic to it or something that is in the product so you could try and use a different product or maybe it could be just too close to your eyes

for longer looking eyelashes try a eyelash curler(the secret is to warm it with a blow dryer) test the temperature on you lip and curl, you have sensitivity to something in the products that you are using.

I think you might have had a reaction to the chemicals in the product you were using.
