where is the cheapest place to live in florida?

To add on to the comment above mine, location is everything. People will pay millions to live on the beach, so the farther inland you go will be the cheapest. Places away from the bigger cities (Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee) are cheaper too, but you could always try the suburbs.

Happy house-hunting! :)

I think the last town to get hit by a hurricane was Punta Gorda, so you should be able to get a FEMA trailer there pretty cheap; but if you want to go really bargain basement, whenever the storm team first hears of a hurricane they automatically assume it's going to wipe out Apalachicola.

You might want to know that compared to all other states, Florida is upside down. The people from northern states like New York tend to move places down south like Miami, while northern Florida border Alabama and Georgia; so people there have similar accents and lifestyles.

You kind of get what you pay for in Florida. If you live someplace cheap you may have trouble finding a job and may not have a lot to do for fun when you aren't working.

If you're already retired or a student you may want to resubmit your question with a few more specifics.

Let's give you an idea, the farther north of miami you go the cheaper it gets.So if you look in the top part of the state it will be cheaper than the bottom of the state.
