I'm a licensed esthetician and beauty consultant.
Start your day by cleansing your skin. Then use an alcohol-free toner (toners are NOT bad as long as they are alcohol free..if you don't tone you don't get rid of flakes on dry skin..and you don't get rid of extra oil on oily skin..if you use a toner, your moisturizer will work better! You can also use Witch Hazel..my favorite kind is Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel..but plain is fine too). Then moisturize. Twice a week use a facial scrub (something not so harsh-st. ive's is a good drugstore brand..just the plain orange tube..the others tend to get greasy) and a mask if you'd like-both are just a bit of pampering and rejuvenation for your skin. End your day by repeating the beginning steps..but instead of your normal day time moisturizer, use a night creme and an eye creme. Eye cremes are important obviously in preventing fine lines and wrinkles (especially if you wear more eye makeup), but also in preventing the eyes from being puffy. Eye cremes are applied all around the eye..with the bones around the eye being the limit. Night creme is applied everywhere else..including neck and top of chest! Lots of people forget about the decollatage and end up with an old looking neck and younger looking face. Be sure to somehow use a sunscreen..whether it's in your foundation or your moisturizer. NEVER go to bed with makeup on since your skin soaks up the most stuff during the night. Drink plenty of water and take your vitamins! Since your skin is an organ..don't neglect the rest of your body. Use a good petroleum-free body lotion like Burt's Bees or Kiss My Face. There are others, but both of those have lots of scents and whatnot. I'm partial to Merle Norman products, but everyone has their own favorites. My favorite drugstore brand is Clean & Clear. I'll end my novel there! =)

you are so lucky I'm on-line right now and saw your question. I've researched skin care extensively and specialize. if skin is normal to dry, wash face only once a day (at night) with a super-fatty cleanser, ya know, something made with olive oil for example. right after that, apply an AHA cream. a good one that's cheap is Ponds Time Rewind. this will exfoliate dead skin naturally. (stay away from facial scrubs, the can irritate the skin causing photo-aging.) 30 minutes later, apply retinol serum or cream. Nuetrogena Anti Wrinkle Cream is excellent. this will increase new cell turnover. ten minutes later, apply moisturizer. Nivea night with Q10 is best for cheap. in morning only rinse with warm water (remember, only cleanser at night) you may use something like Regenerist revitalizing serum followed by moisturizer with SPF 15 or at least the moisturizer.use sunscreen everyday after applying moisturizer. if skin is oily, cleanse morning and night and use oi-free products. whatever skin type, avoid toners and aftershaves. VERY BAD. more than anything else for skin though is fruit every morning and veggies or veggie juices the rest of the day. take alpha lipoic acid and C supplements (at least), every day. drink tons of water a day. any more questions? Keep it clean and moisturize. What really works is to use clean
and clear before you go to bed. I know that ussually people might
say to use it in the morning but this way your skin can breath during the night. If you will use clean and clear for your face than dont put any lotion over it. Moisturize your legs and arms. Make sure to get the elbow and the ankles. when taking a shower, make sure to really srub your skin with soap and water.
Hope that helps!

Exfoliate every 4-5 days in the shower
ALWAYS ALWAYS put lotion on.
when 18 is when you should start using age minimizing lotiono n your face (do you want the skin you have when you're 18 or when you start to see the wrinkles?)
Always wash your make up off at night and drink lots of water

Moisturize the skin daily (morning and night) and keep yourself hydrated as well, nothing is as good as water to benifit you inside and out. Stay out of the sun if you don't use sunscreen---- nothing says yuck like skin cancer.
