I've struggled with my weight due to illness for a while now (though finally losing it again yay!) n there are many day to day disadvantages. its much more tiring to walk places, knee and lower back pain is common etc, i personally most miss taking long hot baths , i had to stop n only have showers a couple of months ago when because of a knee problem made worse by weight gain i couldnt get out of the bath.

And to the earlier poster..why would being fat mean you have bo bad skin n greasy hair? I have none of those, in fact all my skinny friends are jealous of my near perfect complexion! I also never smell or have greasy hair because I wash same as everyone else! ..

Being overweight has the same disadvantages as Obesity the more weight above ideal you are! walking, dressing, pain from things like Arthritis (especially in ankles knees or hips), back-ache! Breathing difficulties, controlling health problems like diabetes and angina.
Need I go on!
I think we all need to look at our own lifestyles before we criticise others and be honest about it too.

Hard to find clothes. Yes there are speciality stores for the overweight like Lane Bryant, but when go to Lane Bryant, I end up getting one size smaller and it's the smallest size there. And also the only place I have to shop in my town is Wal-Mart (pretty much) and it's really hard to find good clothes there in the larger sizes.

I went though a period of being much heavier than I am today. It was horrible, but I didn't know how little I could do. The worst, I think being unable to find clothes that fit right.
and having people think ill of you, when you honestly do not know what to do about your situation.
I got lucky and weight simply started falling off.

The fact no man thinks of you as a sexual being since you are fat. Really really really bad to see yourself get passed by time after time just because the other girls have less flesh.

Lathargy, health risks, public acceptance.

I do want to say, one of the most intelligent and likable guys I know is obese. I never ask him about his weight. I just wonder what his life would be like if he was healthy.
