By all means dont call. This guy probably is telling you the absolute truth, hes trouble and doesnt want to hurt you. This usually means he is either; married, gay, unhealthy,amental case, or even worse; an ex sexual criminal.Take his advice and leave him the hell alone. Simple and straight forward. He more than likely feels that you and he wouldn't fair well in a relationship together and that by the two of you getting together in a relationship would bring down the quality of whatever lifestyle that you are accustomed to.
It could possibly mean the his self esteem is damaged and he may need a good friend or counselor help him to rise above that to become a better person.
Whatever the reason is, if you feel that there is hope with this guy, sit down and talk to him, face to face. Maybe it's time for the two of you to start putting your cards on the table for the other to see.

he says he does not want to call u, because it will mean trouble for him, he could be in another relationship, he may feel if he begins a relationship with u, that it will be nothing but trouble. avoid him he isn't looking for a relationship with u.

it must mean that someone in his life does not want him to be in contact with you and he will get in trouble for it if they were to find out. Or he just feels like you would cause some type of trouble in his life... either directly, or indirectly because of his contact with you.
