You didn't say how old you are, nor how much time would be involved with church. You can do both. But your boyfriend and your family need to know that you have your own life and you will let your conscience guide you. If you want to go to church, then go. Your boyfriend will either go with you or he won't. If you would rather spend the night with your boyfriend, your family may have to accept that.
Make your own decision. But keep in mind... someone is not gonna be happy.
Remember, boyfriends will come and go, but your family is there forever.

Is there a way to compromise? Say you'll spend some time at church and then with your boyfriend, since he's not willing to go with you. Not sure how old you are or whether you are still living at home. But it seems to me there ought to be a way to make both people happy, as well as yourself! Actually I think it's unfair for you to be stuck in the middle of this situation.

So you are 18 and have a place of your own?? Then its your call--but why not compromise?? Stay with your boyfriend and then go to church --that way everyone is happy--Don't let your boyfriend keep you from your family friends and church--just because he doesn't want to go doesn't mean you cant --

If it's any help.. the old adage is - "Christmas is for Family, New Year is for Friends"

It works - and everyone can be satisfied and content.

AFTER YOU GO TO CHURCH GO SEE YOUR BF. WITH CHURCH WOULDN'T THINK YOU'D WANT TO BE STAYING ALL NIGHT WITH YOUR BF.

It's really hard to do but you need to make YOURSELF happy. It's too exhausting trying to please everyone. You are not being selfish but rather true to yourself.
