Toilet seats are made to go up or down...If so concerned for fellow man,raise the seat and properly wipe up all drippings.If that's too much trouble for you try sitting down.Don't forget to wash your hands.

I do it when I'm talking on the phone so that the person on the other end doesn't hear what I'm doing. Just rinse it down real good and clean the sink out.
