I guess it depends on the doctor. Mine checks for pregnancy hormone, blood type, immunity to measles, mumps and rubella, HIV, and other things that I can't remember off the top of my head.

They will take several vials of blood to do the following tests:
• Blood type, Rh factor, and antibody screening
• Complete blood count
• German measles (rubella) immunity
• Chicken pox immunity
• Hepatitis B testing
• Syphilis screening
• HIV testing
And genetic screening if you fall "at risk":

one thing they checked me for was blood type. I had the kind of blood type that could have affected my pregnancy. They also check for diseases.

usually several things: blood type and RH factor with antibody screening, HCG levels, usually a test for rubella immuntiy, a Hep B screen, STD screen, HIV test and a complete CBC to make sure everything comes back normal.
