Yes it does honey. and like some of the other posters said above, if you believe in Christ, things like horror movies won't sit well within your spirit. I used to watch it, and my mother would tell me the same thing.. I had to the learn the hard way. Not only would i have bad dreams, but see and hear spirits in my home. It's up to you...

I will tell you from years of experience with children, that those who are allowed to watch violence, horror movies also end up being the same kids that fight a lot, argue all the time with parents.
You can believe it doesn't cause a problem and in a few more years you'll see for yourself. But I came from a home where much evil, way beyond movies went on. I had to work to find my own way in life, to deside right from wrong.
The Light of Christ, the Holy Ghost will not come into an evironment where there is evil being viewed or watched. There is the saying, you can only entertain one spirit at a time. Either you envite by your words, deeds and actions those from Heaven or you evite those from Hell.
People can lecture you and others forever, you'll beleive what you want and it sounds to me like you don't want an answer, you what others to agree and millions will.
Here is something you can try in your home and then decide for yourself from the results.
Start each day with family prayer. Pray for others, offer thanks for what you have and ask for help and guidence through out the day. Then end your day in prayer.
For one month do not watch any TV with violence, not even mild violence and no movies with any form of violence. Spend time doing family fun together.
At the end of the month, see if the behaviors of all in the home is more loving or not. Do you all feel better, closer. If you do, then then you have found the answer for yourself. If not, then all you'e lost is one month trying something and you have the rest of your life to watch anything you want.

I don't know - I guess it would depend on how into it you got and if you actually invited bad spirits into your house.
I think bad spirits have to be invited inside, I meam they're all around you anyway, and you have to tell them to go for them to go, so I would imagine that they could come whether there was a horror movie playing or not.
So, my answer is no, horror movies cannot invite bad spirits into your house. If any bad spirits in your house already, you can rebuke/ask them to leave in the name of God and or Jesus, or whatever diety you believe in.
God and Jesus always work for me.

Well that's impossible. So yes I think he's lying. There is no such thing as a bad angel. If it was bad, then it wouldn't be an angel. Tell your dad to stop trying to scare you into religion. Relgion is sapposed to be about faith and believing because you WANT to believe and you truly do believe that God is there. It's not aboout scaring people into the religion, because if someone is a Christain just because they are scared of what happens if they aren't then they aren't a real Christain. -Connor

I do not believe that to be true.
This is the first time I have ever heard of that.
I do not like horror movies but, saying they invite spirits into your home is silly.
It's just t.v.~ not some mystic portal.

Well I believe it does. I don't think it invites a somber mood if that is what you mean. I think kids these days watch too many scary movies. I mean scary movies used to be my ALL TIME FAVORITE, but then I realized it doesn't really make me feel good. It's fun being scared cause it's kind of exciting, but later on it makes my imagination run & in the long run just doesn't make me feel good. I think it's ok for you to watch it, but I would be careful about the kids watching it. Even though they may not be scared, it can have a long term affect.

No. That is charismatic propaganda. They might invite psychological problems into young minds, but they will not invite evil spirits into your home. Still, I suggest that you follow the MPAA recommendations, and do not allow your children to watch overtly violent material. I knew a guy who watched horror movies with his kids from the time they were born - it all seemed fun, and the kids seemed fine with it, but they both started suffering from severe nightmares when they hit their early teens.
