People find the best courage when they have little to lose. Saddam could not change his fate, so he tried to die with some dignity by sticking to his guns and not struggle; but when they took him to the place of execution, he struggled. Romanian dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu, died a similar death, some 17 years ago, on December 25. He also refused to have a hood blocking his view, and so did his wife. But a last-minute courage doesn't make you a better person, nor does it justify your crimes.
I don't think that Bush is guilty the way Saddam is because Bush acted on interest -- whether right or wrong --, whereas Saddam often acted on revenge and for his pride. I think neither of these leaders (Saddam, Bush, and Blair) are cool and it's a bit weak to look for modern rolemodels. The age of the samurai, Romans, and ancient Greeks is long gone, as is the Middle Ages. As a martyr, you get your 15-minutes of fame and that's that.

Yes, I do think that Sr. & Jr. are just as guilty. I've done the research, seen the numbers, and can tell you this, as a proud patriot: the current President has used his "war" on "evil" as one huge power grab. It's also been quite profitable for him, his dad, and his vice president. And no, I seriously doubt that neither Bush nor Blair have the stones to be that collected, were either of them to be sentenced to death. (Not without serious sedatives.) Saddam Hussein may have been a lot of things, but you have to give the guy credit- at least he had some cojones!

I am christian, and I KNOW there are many Muslims that hate that man, and would prefer to live good and happy lives.
Saddam was evil, he lived by the sword and died by it, he is history. He will have to answer to his God, of whom I am sure would not truly have approved of his actions.
I have yet to meet an American of late that has a good word to say for Bush or his father?! Which is a bit worrying. No I doubt if they would have been so calm, but you see Saddam was a total mad man, radical, what ever you want to call him, he had that to carry him through such an ordeal I guess. I must admit, I did admire that. But that was all I ever would!
May your God go with you.

The Bush family have formed many many charities to which they contribute both time and money. They help people.
I am not aware that Saddam Hussein ever helped anyone. But he did order many many people killed. And in some cases, his killing was very sadistic.
It doesn't take much courage to die. But living in this hard world does take plenty of courage.

THE WORD YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS "M.U.S.L.I.M" not moslem.
what do you mean by secular?
Sadam was the greatest! He killed all the Kurds and sheas who believe in suicide. Islam does not allow suicide. thou shall not kill"? remember. Allah is the giver and taker. Kurds claim they are muslims when really they are KILLERS. THEY ARE SICKOS AND HURT THIER BODIES WITH SHARP SWORDS AND SWING OTHER SHARP WEAPONS ON THIER BARE BODIES CRYNG "YA ALI YA ALI" what the hell for? Islam fordids this.
then they go to bomb the rest of the world. Sadam tried to prevent this because sheas were given or HAVE GIVEN I slam a verybad name and portarait Islam as bad and an enemy in htis world.
Sheas ahve made a mockery of Islam. Anyone who makes a mockery of Islam should be dealt with, especially if they are muslim or claim the are muslim.
Sadam tried to stop bombers spreading, ut the **** americans and british went to catch him and exchange sadam for oil. HOW TYPICAL AMERICAN IS ALL ABOUT "ME, ME AND ME"
WHo wants oil? "me" said the american
who wants gold? 2ME" cried the american
wh wants money? me begged the american
who wants pie? me fucked the american
who wants a ****? me gasped the american
who wants to die? NOT ME! SCREAMED THE AMERICAN AND RAN TO HIDE IN A BUSH (FOR A ****!!) HAHAHA
Allah have mercy on Sadam
