One minute they are in WW3 then the next my mom is like ...."i really do love him" and stuff like that. my house is NEVER quiet and I know that my mom will NEVER be happy with this loser. What is a girl to do??

I'm sorry, I can relate. I unfortunately let it get to me, I rebelled and got into all sorts of trouble. My mother was so preoccupied with the ups and downs of their relationship that she didn't notice anything I did. I lived with them and she didn't know I was pregnant until I was due. I don't know if it's that bad for you, but I wish I had choosen sooner to be the adult in the house, set a good example, sit them down for mature conversations about how they were affecting me, initiate family therapy, seek help from other relatives... I don't think it will pass without some intervention so find a reliable adult to help you take action. Good luck!

www.drphil.com You would be amazed what Dr. Phil can do. Libraries are great for peace and quiet, especially if you need to study. The Walkman is a good idea, you could try classical piano to get your stress levels down. If you have any friends with parents who don't fight all the time, it could be good for you to hang out with them. Look for role models that will show you how people should treat each other. Finally, if they are making your life miserable, you could visit your doctor and tell him how you feel, there are several ways a doctor could help. Don't just suffer in silence, you don't deserve this abuse. Happy New Year!

For one caring for someone is so complicated. You cannot tell your mother who she can, and can't love. She needs to find out for herself that he is not good enough for her. There is nothing really that you can do.
As far as the fighting.
Try sitting down with your mom and explaining to her that their fighting is really stressing you out. But sometimes parents can get defensive about this, not because they don't care but because they feel guilty because they know they should not fight in front of you. If this does not work than go to a friends and hang out or take a walk.

Talk to just your mom. Tell her that you are worried about her hapiness. Then try talking to your step dad and talk about his hapiness. Then talk to both of them and see if you can work something out. Maybe they are fighting because something is going on between them.

you cant really do anything. your mom is her own person and she can do what she wants.. we all get into our battles. since they keep fightign alot maybe the end is near for them
my parents are divorced and i remember when my dad used to come and pick me up him and my mom would always fight and swear at eachother (my mom even threw fudge at him once around christmas lol)
but it is always really uncomfotable.. maybe tune them out and put on some head phone and listen to music. but its always still tempting to eas drop... theres nothign to really avoid it since you still live at home
just hope he gets kicked to the curb!

yea i used to feel the same way but it will pass trust me in a few years things will change for the better ( when you go to college)

i know my mom and dad fight alot they are just like mine she might not love him anymore or he might no love her hopefully they work it out
