If so, how?

Yep and it is the strangest scenario. During a high school football game this dude out-sized me by 100lbs. He wasn't very athletic but his huge mass was tough to deal with and I got sick of it, I didn't respect him, he was just in the way because he was big. So I just gave him a total cheap shot. After the play was over and his guard was down I socked him in the stomach and I mean HARD! The look in his eyes were of such betrayal. I know you are probably asking from a romantic sense but I have never looked into the eyes of someone and seen such a broken heart. This kid was devastated that I would do that to him, he wasn't mad I think he was truly broken hearted. Truth is I am ashamed of myself and regret it and I will never forget the look on his face, I would never want to see that look in someone's eyes ever again.

I have and it was for the better because both times involved someone having stronger feelings for me than I for them.
It's awful ,at first, to have to deny someone the pleasure of your company. They both got over it and moved on to have lives that were just fine

Yes, I have. Unintentionally though. Sometimes it's hard to telling someone that you are not interested in them. Truth hurts.
