Yes. If you donate money to a charity for the sake of something vain like a tax refund or a mention on a list of donors, the charity still gets your money and uses it for good. However, Judaism ascribes different levels of charity, with the most righteous form being anonymous charity and the least righteous being for vanity's sake. It's still a good deed though.

its a good deed, but for the wrong reason, making the deeder look vain, and trying to get some karma points, which actually can lower ur karma...

It may help someone here on earth but it's worthless in God's eyes. Oprah Winfrey has done a lot of good with her money but God will overlook it because she did it to enhance her name and make more money.
