Just give it a wash but try not to use soap or any other chemicals!I would agree to using a new toothbrush to clean all the waste and algea. Like the other guy said though, as long as you keep the filter running it should be ok!

Honestly I would do nothing more than a really good rinse. Alot of the natural bacteria will do the rest. The salt left behind will be good for conditioning the tank. If you are really concerned this not a good idea, let it stand for a few days with filter running. Other wise I believe you will have one of the healthiest fresh water tanks you have ever seen.

Simply wash it down with hot water. There isn't anything in a saltwater tank that can harm your freshwater fish, other than a little salt residue on the equipment.

Wash it all down and rinse thoroughly. Use no soap or other cleaners.

I just read in a book that you can clean your tank and equipment with white vinegar. Soak a paper towel in vinegar wipe around inside of tank where water has evaporated and left white mineral deposits. Book says its harmless to fish even if dropped in water.

Just give a good scrub under running warm water. Any dried on white deposits can be easily removed with vinegar, but be very sure that it is well rinsed off.

Give it all a good wipe down, clean up isn't hard just have to be motivated enought to do so bi-weekly.
