The flavors begin to marry even more and blend out. Chili is like that too. In fact there are lots of food like that. When you make chicken salad it tastes better after it is there overnight. Not everything tho, scrambled egg are not good leftover LOL...

alot the times yes. leftover wild rice with chiken and crab tastes better the next day. so does some types of pizza

Yes, cause all the ingredients become infused when they are already prepared and left to sit around. Its almost like the leftovers are marinating together.

They surely can. Especially homemade soup. Eating some foods the next day gives more time for the flavors to absorb.

yes foods taste better because they have time to sit in
their juices/ sauces and that gives better flavor.
And the foods that are supposed to be served cold get
colder and taste so much better.
