Absolutely weird! It hardly ever snows in the Puget Sound area of Washington State and already it has snowed several times. It's been down into the low 20's at night in areas that hardly ever freeze. There are places in the Cascade Mountains just to the east of us where it has already snowed over 100 inches. Mt. Bachelor, the ski resort in Oregon, reports over 200 inches of snow and it is just the end of December!

What the hell is going on? Do you suppose that what we are seeing out here is the start of the Global Cooling everyone was predicting in the mid-1970's?

I am in Southwestern Ontario, Canada (London area, 2 hours west of Toronto). We had one big dumping of snow in early December and it all melted the following week and has been green and mild ever since. It can stay this way until spring as far as I'm concerned!

I'm home in New Mexico for Christmas/New Years. Its been a crazy freak snowstorm out here. Its snowed 5 inches (i know, but that's ALOT for here) and everyone is freaking out. Our phone lines went down, no one knows how to drive, airports are closed... its been "interesting."
