Well they have done it (whoever they are?) they have hung saddam - not a nice man by all accounts and I have no doubt his judgement after this life will be harsher than any we could have pronounced on earth. Let me state firstly I do not have any affection for saddam at all.

I have over the last 24 - 36 hours however heard so many people saying he deserved it, he received more justice than he afforded others, his death was less brutal than the thousands he killed, tortured etc. All of these comments may well in the natural be true. But the point is justice to concentrate on whether he got more justice is a farce.

I am no genius, i have no deep understanding of the complex issues engulfing people living in the middle east, however I do feel that the iraqi people (especially the victims of his regime) have lost an opportunity to set the standard for justice and to deal out this new justice with human rights being at the heart of the "new" regime, whose ever it is. :/

Thousands of kurds were affected by his regime as well as the shia population, many of their questions will never be answered, and killing him now has not served the cause of justice for the kurds and the other victims.

I personally think maybe this was the idea - question - do the western governments who armed and supported saddam hussein really want the world knowing where the gas came from where the bombs, chemicals, torture methods and training of troops ?????

I have no doubt saddam hussein needed bringing to book, but look at other "criminals against humanity" werent they tried in an international courts like Molosovic and Hess, tried in the haig and jailed for life. Surely this would have been more just and fair - not for saddam hussein but for the international community as a whole.

Anyways thats my 2p worth :)

love and light and Happy New Year !!!!

No..I would have taken him to the swamps in Florida, tied him up to a tree let the mosquitos, bugs ect....start first then the Gaters get him!
The Media should have NEVER let this out to make things worse for the Soldiers, they could have done this secretly and if anyone asked they could have said he was in a holding place somewhere unknown to the public until this war is over and Our Relatives and Friends are home safe!

No, but torture is considered inhumane, and would raise the question: how long, and what type of torture? There ARE no standards for torture as a legitimate punishment in the civilized world.

it was too fast, painless.. he needed to feel something.. oh well, he'll burn in hell now anyways.. but hanging was too quick.. they should have robbed him of sleep for 2 days.. then make him carry the equipment to execute him lol, but im not going to get into this.. i'll get carried away lol but it was definitely too fast.. he needed to feel the pain he caused ALL those people

Bush needs to be killed in a more cruel way for destroying Iraq.

It was the prescribed way of putting him to death, but I think it was terrible the way he was goaded and abused as he went to his death. Just proves what savages the Iraqis are.

yes...but also....any "old-style" method would fit...

impalement, quartering....cutting the head off.....the list can go on & on...due to the way he put people to death.....he got what was coming to him.

he wasn't "humane" & he took rights away from many of his people.....so at the end he deserved no rights.

He is gone, so this is really a moot point, but I think that in his country, this is the acceptable method.
