You watch FutuRama?Robots,creature with one eye,sky scraper and clones.How do you think will be the world in year 5000 ? Now we are in 2007.5000 will be great i think.

it's hard to say, if we continue to use our resources up at the present rate and do not someday soon make space travel a viable option then i believe, that unless someone nukes us, that we will use up our resources well before the year 5000 and though we might not go extinct we would be reduced to something akin to the huts we lived in around 3000bc.

At present population growth rates, by Year 5000 we'll finally outnumber cockroaches. Wouldn't that be a great day? Who'd be winning then, hah?

The world will be as you think it would be. Your world is that which you think, no doubt about it.what do you mean by "great"in 5000?Of-course there will be great changes due to scientific attainments. But all are mind processes ,as you know.

Technology will have gone forwards in many ways but it will also need to step backwards because the energy intensive society that we have made is not sustainable. Most alternative forms of energy production just don't stack up so we will have to go back to a simpler way of life.

Sad to say I don't think there will be a world to be in the future. Man in his greed and lust for power will blow us into nothing more than a barren wasteland. Unihabitable by any creature.
