for a comprehensive review of hundreds of laptops from all companies I recommend that you visit Better Home From Amazon http://astore.amazon.com/goodmanzone-20 go the computer/notebook category , here you can view 9 laptops at a time to compare , and choose from the variety of options available.

Return it. Stay away from HP or Compaq if at all possible. They tend to have many problems, and the company is well known for being unresponsive and resistant to own up and fix it. As much as I personally hate Dell, they are the better choice. Or better yet, Lenovo or Toshiba. Newegg or tigerdirect should have a good deal on a better machine for you.

If your not overly particular about the brand of laptop, I recommend www.newegg.com. They have various brands at really good prices.

Dell's customer support is quite bad. (I have returned 2 also)
