It is a spray on that I was advised to use on the embossed western saddle the trouble is that it changed the colour and on the back edge of the seat I have a run of oil which has left a dark run stain. The product is Farnam Leather New - self polishing cleaner. Please, has someone any idea how to remove this staining? The saddle is absolutely brand new and I am totally upset about it.

There is a leather cleaner called Doc Baileys.. We use it on all our saddles and tack. IT probably will not clean stain off, but it will slightly darken your saddle. I have never been able to get a dark stain from a saddle oil off any tack. My solution is just to darken the other leather to match. A local tack shop or saddle maker may have some better ideas. You don't mention what type of saddle you have but the manufacturer may be able to offer an idea also...I still remember the first stain on my first really nice saddle..Best wishes

Saddle soap, and it takes lots of "sweat equity" work. Then polish after the separate cleaning.

Don't get upset. That's why saddles are made of good leather. It now belongs to you. You own your saddle, and it does not own you. Your stain is your mark, and saddles get tons of stains.

So Congratulate yourself, as you now own your saddle!
Remember YOU own your goods, they don't own YOU!

Perfect saddles only exist in the store for sale.

GOD bless us one and all, always.
