There are all kinds of ways to learn other than by being in school, but our society is organized in such a way that you need to get the piece of paper that says you graduated from high school. As a previous poster indicated, your whole perspective on the issue will probably change when you get to college or university. Stick with it. This too will end, and when it does you may even look back on your school experience with at least a little nostalgia.

On a much more positive note, I urge you to explore your resistance to school. Sit down with someone else you trust (*not* a dropout) and figure where the issue lies. Is it one of your teachers, a student, a particular class? Do you just not enjoy learning right now? Perhaps if you thought more deeply about this problem you could determine the root of it.
(I don't think you really want to stay home all the time - there's something else going on).
Despite JWH's cynical post, s\he has a point. Without an education, your choices in life will be more limited. You may be able to make it with a GED or no HS diploma, but the odds will be against you for the rest of your life. Learning online or from DVDs is good, but I FIRMLY believe that interacting with others at school (at your age) is critical to the learning and socialization process. I have known people who went through home schooling, for instance, and they find it very hard to socialize with people (especially strangers).
If you don't love learning, you need to get very clear about your expectations in life.
Airheads can get ahead, but they are still airheads and people take advantage of them.

Why not just ask for an easy ride through life. After all you don't want to learn anything. It's obvious that you think it is just a waste of time. Perhaps you should just bide your time and wait till you are old enough to not have to attend school. Sixteen is the age that will allow you to be free from having to go to school. Just loaf around and do just enough to get by. Then you can maybe find something more fun to do such as go to work at Mcdonalds and make 6.00 dollars an hour. then hey who knows maybe you can find someone to get you pregnant. Boy that'll be fun huh. Then you can join all the others just like you who can wind up with some wellfare help and gee won't it be fun to get fat and not have to work. Then you can lay around and read a few magazines, the ones written for 5th graders and watch the soaps on tv.. wow what a way to live.. after all who needs to learn anything in school..Hell you probably already know everything like the rest of your friends.. Maybe some day the scientist will create some robot that will hook you up to a computer and load your brain with knowledge.. perhaps you should just wait for that day.. and uh do me a favor.. DON'T EVER VOTE.

Honey, they did! It is called a computer hooked to the Internet.
That is how people learn today. Not in class rooms but by computer courses. All you learn at school is how to get into trouble. One teacher that is very good at teaching can be available to thousands of students via computer. You concentrate on the screen and interact with the computer and it teaches typing to foreign languages to being a computer programmer. Take courses to get your GED. That is a high school equivalency test and then use it to go to VOTECH which trains you for a job you can really do.
They call it home schooling and it works, many students went from flunking to straight A"s. If your parents are working ask your grand parents.

A robot can not teach you the same way a human can , you need real interaction. There are online programs and home schooling programs already in place, but what it missing is the human interaction with other students and other teachers etc.

⥠I know how you feel. I dislike going to school because of my own reasons but I enjoy learning. Good idea though. Or maybe you could ask one of your parents to homeschool you
