He was supposed to be a proffessional comedian. Pro comedians should know how to deal with Hecklers. He was having a bad day and should stop making excuses and stop appologizing. It is over and done with. That was so long ago. Ifd people have nothing better to do than discuss being upset with him, then they are sad. I'm not mad at him. It was stupid, but it is over anbd done with.

I forgave him because he opened my eyes to something - that racism is still a very deep-seated concept. Makes me wonder how many other people out there want the freedom to be able to do what he did. I don't care how angry u get. As a comedian, u need 2 exercise more self-control and 2 b quicker on ur feet. If someone heckles you, u're s'posed 2 come back with something clever not what you genuinely feel. If u expose ur true self, it's not comedy anymore.

I think that at this piont his own sorrow is eating him alive. I don't think people care if he is a racist or not--life goes on but people have to get a grip on life. I was always told "when someone shows you their true colors...believe them the first time" People can either believe or disapprove of whether he is or is not a racist. But at this piont who cares.

I don't think he's really racist....I think he had some kind of breakdown. But I do think Mel Gibson, although drunk, has a history of anti-semitism.

Everybody is racist to a degree and those who say they are not are lying.
The only reason people get ticked off at comments made by celebrities is because they are just that "CELEBRITIES" and for some reason God forbid them to speak their minds in public.

I think most people have forgiven him, it will take time. I agree that when you are angry you say the wrong things, but celebrities should know by now that they need to be more careful.

It doesn't matter. I get angry too but I would never make racist comments. He probably isn't racist but still, his damnage is irreversible.

I agree with the first answer. He was pissed and was sounding off to someone who was real offensive. Who wants to take that crap?
