OAK TWIG GIRDLER, Agrilus angelicus. adults are off white, look like sausage links connected together, areabout 3/4 to 1 inch long when mature. they have been girdling spirally in the cambium of your twigs.

build up your trees to a good state of vigor. as a protectant apply carbaryl in early june on coast, may inland.

should be gone by next season.

Oak trees may or may not drop their leaves each year. This is normal for oak trees. The cells that die off are strong enough to hold the leaf on until new growth pushes them off. It can vary depending on things such as temperature and frost but is not actual damage from the frost.

If you are in the US of A it's not frost damage. Many Oak varieties don't drop their leaves till late winter or earliest spring. Gardener isn't nuts just don't know sheeat!

.The oaks around here never drop there leaves until spring,they stay on the tree brown and dead all winter. Western Wisconsin
