Hi, Great Question..With colon problems on the rise due to not eating right, this is an excellent question..Diverticulosis is one of many results of an unhealthy colon..Our colon can become clogged due to eating too much meat, flour containing foods, white bread, and pork, and most of all from not drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day..Pork food is trully unhealthy for the colon..Having a clogged colon can cause other problems such as gas, migraine headaches, skin rashes, bad breath, portruding abdomin, and etc..For best results your mother should Purchase a jar of fiber, because the body does not know the difference between grain fiber, and fiber from food..Fiber can fill in the pockets of the colon to help her heal..I have found a product that not only help the colon to eliminate waste, but it also has fiber that help cleanses the colon walls..
look up drnatura fiber..You can find it cheaper on ebay

have you had a bad stomach or intestine ache lately... how about bloating or gas? Gas will make it turn black,,, you may have eaten something bad Ok now what you need to do for the next few days is, watch what you eat. Drink a lot of water,,,, lots and lots,, flush that mess out. Also go to a local health food store like GNC and buy some of their cleaning formulas. You also need to go to a local store and buy some fiber vitiamins,,, not ex lax! just fiber... Your local drug store should have some chewables for about $10. do not worry,,, now you may have a little blood, but that can be from a stomach virus,,, try cleaning yourself out... do not use a laxative,, because it will make you sick and dehydrated

Worth running past your doctor, but you could try getting some psyillium husk (local health food stores stock it under a variety of names) because this is a bulking agent, calorie-neutral, and very bland to drink. Follow the directions ... especially those about drinking it as soon as you've mixed it 'cos it'll swell up in the glass instead of the insides where it's meant to.

100% whole wheat breatds, whole wheat cereals, prunes and be sure and drink lots of water. Don't eat anything with seeds since they get caught in the pockets caused by Diverticulosis.

Salad salad and more salad...Applesauce is good, and easy on her stomach...potato soup is good, and oatmeal and cream of wheat cereal is good on her tummy....for her ulcers, she might try taking a big dose of antibiotics, cypro is the one of choice, and line her tummy with Pepto bismol...and for gas, use Charcoal...I did this and got rid of my stomach ulcers...any way, bland food is the best...God bless you both, and happy new year
