It depends on how big your step is.

But as it applies to swimming, the mile race is 1,650 yards or 1500 meters.

And if your step is about a foot, then a mile would be 5280 steps.

That depends on how long your strides are when you walk. What I would do is see how far your steps are normally, then take that number and divide 5280 (the number of feet in one mile) by that number.

For example, if my steps were to be two feet per step then to walk one mile, it would take me 2640 steps.

Everyones stepping pattern is different. uphill and downhill also make a difference. flatland and courseland too. A string of beads works well to count your steps. After you shoot an asmuth click a bead for every ten steps or more depending on how long your string is so you dont loose count.

in track, the mile is 1600 meters i usually run it in about 6 minutes and something seconds
