Something lightweight. Umbrella strollers are fine, but they can be flimsy and cheap. You can go to places like Target and they have strollers on display so you can check them out before you purchase one. Here are some I would suggest:

First of all find out what she wants in a stroller. There are so many differnt kinds. Does she want something the infant seat can attach too? Or something simple and lightweight that takes up no room at all when folded. There are so many out there and you can visit company websites for reviews or even playes like yahoo for reviews of products. It is very kind of you to offer to buy such a MUCH NEEDED item for the family, but first find out what she wants in a stroller.

I have bought only Graco strollers-and they are wonderful. They hold up very well and are durable.I am pregnant with my 2nd baby and just got the Graco Emerson Double stroller-it was about $250.
My 1st single Graco stroller was perfect too!

I've got a 2 year old daughter and we bought her a Graco stroller right after she was born. Loved it! Very tough and durable, but nice-looking, too. We used it like crazy.

congrats on the new bub, that is very generous of you to buy a stroller. maybe ask your niece what kind she prefers, eg a three wheeler or four wheeler etc. Mine is an Infinity, don't know if they are available where you are, they are made by Hauck. very good prams, sturdy yet lightweight, suitable from newborn up.

we have used nothing but peg-perego stollers. They have a lot of convienent features and are durable and lightweight. We are about to have our second baby girl and just bought a double. We wouldnt use anything else! Good Luck with your search.

Peg Perego is the most durable and lasts a long time. Do a "test drive," they are very sturdy.
