When was the last time the Jets and the Giants were in the playoffs during the same year?

2002. Giants were a wild card and lost to San Francisco in the first round, while the Jets won the AFC East and beat Indy at home before losing to Oakland.

Prior to that, you have to go back to 1986 for the last year both made it. The Giants won their first Super Bowl that year over Denver.
