How do u hide ims on a mac?

If you mean making sure people can't look thru your message/IM history, just make sure that Message Archiving is off.
Look in your Preferences or Security settings for whatever IM program you use.

Hi colby,

If you are talking about having the software work but not on the desktop, you simply click the red (X)close button. The application is still working just in the background. You can access the application from the dock and up at the menu. If somebody IMs you, they come up on the screen. Simple as that.
