I swear, I can't even get up a flight of stairs sometimes without huffing and puffing. I'm only five months! Did anyone else deal with this, and how did you cope? It's got to be worse as you get bigger!

I am 19 weeks and have the same thing. I get it lots, even when I am just sitting down or not doing anything. Remember you are breathing for the baby too. You are exhaling and inhaling as much as 40% more air than you did before. It is supposed to get better as time passes and especially when the baby "drops". I guess we'll see.

I had the same thing at the beggining of my pregnancy. Every time I do any kind of work I'd get tired and so exauseted and I'd feel like I've been smoking non-stop for the last 50 years. It's normal. How I coped with it? I was trying to relax and take little breaks in the middle of any kind of work that required physical efforts. If I had to take 10 steps, I'd stop at the 5th one for a while and then, I'd keep going slowly and cautiously.

Today I'm 17 weeks & 4 days and thank God, this tiredness disapperaed. I just cleaned the whole house:)))

I have had this same problem, starting around the same time as well. It can be from the baby and your uterus starting to press on your organs, but if you start to get short of breath during normal activities (shopping, working, ect.) be sure to tell your doctor. I was having that problem and it turns out that I was becoming anemic. Now I'm taking iron and I don't have the shortness of breath anymore unless I'm doing something strenuous. :)

I am 24 weeks preg and i have the same thing... its horrible!! My midwife said just take it easy (easy to say, especially with 2 already here!) Apparently its when the baby is sitting on the diafram. As far as i know, there's nothing you can do. I have sat there and tried to get her to move, but she's stubborn!
If you find out anything to help, let me know!!

Yes, they say that it is from sitting up alot, because your stomache and chest are all bent together, so they say lay down for like 15 min or so and it should subside.
