I have been barefoot for almost 2 years now. I do everything barefoot -- driving, shopping, going in public places, hiking in the woods, going to clubs, visiting friends, going to the doctor, gardening, shoveling snow, going for walks, etc. I go to the post office almost every day to ship parcels and I have done that barefoot for nearly 2 years except for when I have really heavy parcels to deal with (50 lbs/20 kg)

The only times I have worn shoes is to funerals and to church; someday I will probably also go to church barefoot. Obviously there are other times when shoes are required -- such as moving furniture, doing tasks where foot protection is necessary, and climbing ladders.

I tend to keep my feet clean. I don't want people to think that barefooting means I am "dirty" or that barefooting itself is somehow "dirty". However, when at home, I love to walk in mud and get dirty feet but then I promptly get cleaned up when entering the house again. I keep a small basin as a foot bath inside my house entrance to wash my feet.

I don't talk about barefooting much. I prefer that people not even notice. I do visit some barefooting sites and yahoo groups, but that's about it for me.

I believe that if more people were barefoot more often, there would be less stress in the world. Taking off your shoes after a long day is a great way to relax, cool off, and relieve stress. More people should at least remove their shoes at home.

Barefooting is great. I never want to stop being a barefooter.

I go barefoot always, have for the past ten years. I go barefoot summer and winter, doing everything I normally do; work, go hiking, go shopping, whatever. I'm not in it for the dirty soles; I don't mind them, skin's tough and meant to keep pathogens out, so I don't worry about it. However I don't go out of my way to get my feet dirty or anything, and sometimes it can be inconvenient when going to someone's house. People have loads of biasses against bare feet anyhow and while shoes of course have dirt on the soles too (and can even have really gross stuff like dog doo on there that you didn't notice until you've tracked it through the house -something that won't happen barefoot :)), I still don't want to give people the idea that bare feet are dirty and gross. So if I'm headed over to someone's home I won't walk through the puddles and such.

I talk about barefooting because I try to show people it's not gross or unhealthy. Especially in the US many people believe it is dirty, and also there's the persistant myth that going barefoot in stores and/or restaurants is against Health Department laws. Which is NOT TRUE; see source. Nor is it against the law to drive barefoot. These myths mean that a lot of my barefoot friends in the US get hassled by people who personally don't even mind bare feet, but who believe they have to comply with some law that 'everyone knows about'. Even though I myself live in Europe and rarely have to deal with such misinformation, I still like to visit forums and such to look for barefoot questions, and spread the word that it's *not* illegal to go barefoot anywhere. :-) But to be honest, I'd really like it better if those whole stupid myths didn't exist in the first place, if barefooting were just accepted in the US as it is in Western Europe (rare, but accepted). Then I would probably still talk about it occasionally, but not very often.

Love socks more. I've always hated sandals because my feet are a little sweaty. And you get really cracked heels if you go barefoot too often. But I also like Summer Soles - these fabric strips that stick to sandals. Feels like socks and cures my ache for going barefoot. Especially at the movies and work when I used to slide my shoes off all the time because my feet felt sweaty. But there is nothing worse than having dirty feet. Ugh. It creeps me out when I'm in line somewhere and I look down and someone's feet are dirty in their flip flops.

I spend the majority of my time barefoot. I go without shoes whenever I can! I used to climb trees barefoot, rode, and still ride, my bike and fourweeler with no shoes on, everything else. I love for my feet to be dirty when I'm playing outside, but when I'm in, I like them to be clean. And I really don't care to talk about it on the phone, in person, or over the World Wide Web!!!

I walk barefoot all the time. I have walked down a rocky hill barefoot before. I have walked in sand barefoot before. Feels pretty good. I put my feet in hot water when it is cold. I do not like getting my feet dirty in certain things, like mud and the slimy plants at the bottom of the lake on my feet make me gag.

In the summer I love the feel of grass on my bare feet. I go barefoot as much as possible. The summers are really short where I live.

Well, I like walking barefoot in my home and the homes of familiars. However, it is hell on the feet and can cause sand-paper soles if you don't moisturize frequently.
