in general it would remain hidden as it is not the custom or in keeping with the law to go about showing ones thing in public. i am sure if you ask the man if you may see it in private he will show you .
as for why we sometimes brag about what the size of the thing is i think that is just a sort of practise that has gone on for a very long time and that it is now at least just a joking sort of way of saying i am more of a man then you. i have not been a part of any discussion by men regarding this that was not just plain josting . i dont think men ever talk about that with other men in a serious way at least not any man i have ever known or heard of.
