I plan to go out tonight, but do not want to nurse my daughter with alcohol in my system. She'll nurse at 6:30pm before we go out to eat. I plan to com back around 8:30pm to feed her again, then come back at 10:30pm for one last feeding as this is her bedtime. So, anyway, my question is how long would it take for alcohol (one wine cooler ) to clear my system? I weigh 125 pounds. I'm fine with not drinking with everyone else until after her bedtime, but if I can have a drink with my friends that would be nice too. The doctor says one drink anytime is fine, but I really don't like the idea of my little one with alcohol in her system. She's 7 months, won't take a bottle and eats very little cereal so nursing is still really important for her. Any informational websites would be appreciated also.
Thanks in advance.

i use to not feed for 24 hours after having a few drinks. I would express milk and feed it to him in a bottle. I was told its fine if you only have a few to nurse, but i didn't like the fact of feeding my son alcohol. apparently you digest one standard drink and hour. But as I said, I never did it.

Alcohol enters and leaves the breastmilk at about the same rate as it enters and leaves your bloodstream. It takes approx. an hour for each oz. of alcohol you consume.

Most doctors say to wait 2 hours per drink before breastfeeding again. The alcohol that enters your breastmilk isn't stored in your breastmilk. It goes in, and after a few hours leaves just like alcohol does in your bloodstream.
