i work in a beauty salon and have to look my best, so wear makeup. the secret to men wearing makeup without it's being obvious is to match your complexion as closely as possible. look at L'oreal True match at any drug store. you must determine whether you are a warm, cool or neutral. look for blue undertone to skin, that's cool. usually have gray rim around the iris. yellow undertone is warm. usually have brown or green eyes with gold flecks is your hair warm or cool. don't be fooled by your ethnicity. browner skin does not mean warm necessarily. once you determine, buy the pressed powder only. use the buff pad from the bottom opening and rub over powder and pat gently over entire face. then gently rub it in smoothly. make sure to get neck. buy nuetrogena clean lash tint. it darkens lashes without appearing to be makeup. you will then need to get carmex or a clear gloss (obviously not too glossy) for lips. try cover girl clear. it's that simple. trust me, your skin will be clear and flawless and noone will know. you may need to pat away shininess now and then with the buff pad. just don't use any more powder when yu do that.

Look into Bare Minerals, they're a little expensive, but they last forever and are well worth it. Go to a makeup store like Ulta. They are really good about matching your natural skin tones, and they are very breathable, it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. Break a leg!

Mary Kay is a great product. You can go to www.marykay.com and check it out. If it looks like something you would be interested in you can locate a consultant (one on one, you would not have to go to a store) which might help with your reservations about buying makeup. Good luck with your new career.

If you want semi-professional, I recommend MAC. If you want heavy duty and in front of the camera for hours kind of makeup, check out cinemasecrets.com.
