Good and cheap don't often go together.

However, both Dell & HP make good notebooks in a variety of prices ranges.

You're in luck. It's right after Christmas, so you can get some very good deals on laptops at stores like Best Buy and Circuit City. Check out your newspaper ads.

Dell makes awesome computers and they're not expensive either....

go to www.dell.com and start looking...i've wasted my time searching for the best and cheap laptops, but Dell is really the place you're lookin for. Good luck!

Find a used one on ebay. I still have my Thinkpad A20M, and I love it. You can swap out the CD Rom, for a DVD drive, or an extra HD. It's not very fast, but it does what I need it to. I got in on Ebay for $150...and just upgraded the crap out of it. : D

Toshiba is a good brand. The best way to go is to go to a computer shop and get a refurbished one with the features you need .

MAC MAC MAC the best computer in the world like they say if you got a mac you'll never go back
expensive BUT WORTH IT
