If you plan on keeping this car for a long time the #1 thing I suggest is to follow the run-down procedure religiously. Whenver you get to where you are going, let the engine idle for at least a minute before you shut it off. This will roughly double the life of your turbo as it helps prevent coking inside of the turbo assembly.

Use only synthetic engine oil too, though IIRC that is what Mitsubishi recommends on this car anyway. Beyond that, follow the recommendations in the owners manual to the letter.

I don't have an Evo, but I own a car that spanks them regularly! With any turbo vehicle, the most important thing is to keep the fuel clean. Only run 93 octane or higher. Another thing is getting a catch can. This will keep the top end lubed at start up. Be sure to flush your intercooler every 10000 miles or so to ensure you keep peak efficiency in your charge air.

Since its turboed one thing you are going to have to keep and eye out for is oil pressre and how much there is. Dont put excessive wear on the turbo if you can, ie dont up the boost too much. Also with theAWD theres deffiently no burn outs, launching on a AWd platform takes some getting use to. If you drop the clutch too hard more then a few times your likely to shater the clutch or break a drive axle.
