i want to find a ghost. what types of "symptomes" should i look for without buying all those expensve machine thingys.

Not by sight alone! I can see that by the rest of you're question that you already know that.
I don't think those cold, electronic machines are the answer, either. At least not for the amateur home explorer.
With the heart! And soul. They were human beings and they want to communicate with you.
So be quiet in you're own mind, Above all keep a respectful, and receptive attitude, and you will find what you seek.
There are also great websites that can help.
Like, I like coasttocoastam.com, also ASPR American Society for Psychicical Research.
They are a very old organization, and well respected.
Any organization that has changed their views, ah, do not be discouraged.

As there are no ghosts and you are trying to find something that does not exist I recommend to get an interesting hobby.
OTOH, people buying unnecessary and useless expensive machinery is what keeps our economy going.

Some of the "symptomes" can be cold spots, moving objects, spinning heads and green vomit. Them symptomes don't need no expensive thingys.

there is a great book called speaking with the dead, by konstantinos, he teaches 7 different methods that cost little to no money. the book is about $12, you could find it at borders.
